Who is Pikachu?

Pikachu is an electric-type Pokemon and the poster child for the Pokemon company.

It is the most well-known Pokemon around the world.

In the TV series, the main character, Ash Ketchum always has a Pikachu with him.

This is because Pikachu is Ash’s starter Pokemon.

He woke up late on the day he went to pick his starter, so Ash had to go with Pikachu.

Pikachu is an absolute icon.

It is the Mickey Mouse of Disney.

If asked to name a Pokemon, this one is the first one that comes to mind.

Why are Pikachu’s cards so expensive?

Pikachu’s cards are expensive due to the Pokemon’s fame.

Pikachu does not have any vintage holo cards. But, his paper cards are still worth a significant amount.

This is crazy because this Pokemon is one of the only exceptions to the “only holos are worth money” rule of thumb.

Most kids enjoy Pikachu as it is the electric-mouse Pokemon. The design is fantastic and the Pokemon is likeable.

In fact, even your parents know what a Pikachu is.

This Pokemon oozes nostalgia for 90s babies around the world
