1935 Goudey Baseball Cards

While it does not match the appeal or worth of the previous Goudey releases, 1935 Goudey Baseball stays a much more economical choice for gathering the biggest names in classic baseball

Referred to by its American Card Catalog number, R321. the images are basically cropped variations of the artistic makings that are found on previous Goudey cards.

Over 90% of the pictures are from the 33 and 34 releases.

The four-in-one format is not the chosen route for numerous collectors, but it is tough to argue with names like Babe Ruth, Jimmie Foxx, and Dizzy Dean.

Due to the 4 in 1 nature, many of the cards feature multiple hall of farmers on one card.

Each card can be discovered with 3 or 4 different backs, the master set is really 114 cards and over one-third of the cards are short prints

For example, the card featuring Babe Ruth can be found with the backs for four images, including the Detroit Tigers Team, Frankie Frisch, Mickey Cochrane and Joe Cronin

The 36-card release is mainly organized by group, but a number of cards integrate players from several groups

Notable Cards

1935 Goudey 4 IN 1 FRISCH / DEAN / ORSATTI / CARLETON

There are two hall of farmers listed on the card. Dizzy Dean & Frankie Frisch.

It’s a super desirable card for any Cardinals collector as the cardinals had just won the world series the year before.

1935 Goudey 4 IN 1 DICKEY / LAZZERI / MALONE / RUFFING

Dickey, Lazzeri, and Ruffing are all hall of farmers who played with the Yankees.

Normally a card like this would be towards the top, but Ruth takes that spot.

1935 Goudey 4 IN 1 Bush Waite Hoyt Paul Lloyd Waner

Another card featuring three hall of farmers.

Brothers Paul and Lloyd Waner along with Waite Hoyt all played for the Pirates before being elected to the HOF

1935 Goudey 4 IN 1 Ruth-McManus-Brandt-Maranville

Ruth’s last year playing baseball. He ended up going back to Boston to play with the Braves.

It’s not as desirable as his 33 goudeys due to not beeing on the yankees and the 4 panel.

Rabbit Maranville is another hall of famer listed on the card which adds to the value.
