Who is Mookie Betts

Mookie Betts is an outfielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Drafted by the Red Sox in 2011 in 5th round.

He got called up towards the end of the 2014 season.

His best year to date was in 2018 where he won the MVP, Gold Glove, and a World Series with the Red Sox.

2 years later, the Red Sox traded Mookie to the Dodgers.

Where he won another World Series in 2020.

Why are Mookie Betts Cards Expensive

Mookie Betts cards are expensive for a few reasons.

He won a MVP award

Mookies only played for Big Market Teams

Has a lot of WAR

Gary Vee has hyped him up

And Betts is on Track for the Hall of Fame.

A Note on Graded Cards

Graded Cards impact the price on a card.

PSA in general increases the price the most.

So look for a 10 or 9 when buying.

It confirms the card is real and that it is in good shape.

2013 Panini Prizm Perennial Draft Picks Mookie Betts #46

This is the first Mookie Betts Card.

Don’t fall for the Prizm name though.

While prizm is worth a ton in other sports

Baseball, panini doesn’t have the logos.

So this isn’t a super valuable card.

2014 Bowman Chrome Prospect Autographs Mookie Betts #BCAP-MB

The 1st bowman autos of superstars fetch top dollar.

Betts is one of a ton of stars featured in the 2014 set.

Investors bought it up and jacked up the price.

The heritage high number was an Online Exclusive.

You had to buy a 100-card set on Topp’s website and then break open the set to get the betts rookie.

While Betts isn’t included in the main chrome set, he does have an update rookie.

These were exclusive to target.

Since sterling is a hits first set, there are very few base cards.

It might not have the value of the Basketball or Football RPAs, but it’s still great to have in any collection. 

How much is a Mookie Betts rookie card worth?

Mookie Betts cards can range from $10 to several thousands.

It depends on what you have.

Topps, Chrome, Autograph, and variations will increase the value.

And condition is always important

Betts long term potential

I can’t see Mookie Betts cards increasing much higher than current prices.

Unless he wins a few mvp awards.

His prices reflect a mid tier hall of famer, which Mookie will be.
